About Precision Digital Imaging

Wow, you really must be curious if you clicked through to this page. I've listed our milestones in reverse chronological order since the recent past is the most relevant. Thank you for your interest.

2008 - Launched a Forix PrintBridge website for easy online print ordering of everyday print items. Now a customer can order flyers while lounging in their pajamas in upstate New York.

2007 - Upgraded our digital printing press to the new Canon C7000VP. Customers go wild over the low gloss look... most can't tell it's not conventional offset printing.

2006 - Finally got into digital printing after 20 years of helping other people's print projects look their best. Probably should have done it a lot sooner, but I was never that impressed with the print quality before. Variable data is cool.

1999 - Began imaging plates as a service to printers using a Creo (now Kodak) Trendsetter. Also began using Creo's Prinergy pdf workflow system. This technology is so good, it's still a vital part of our world today.

1998 - Upgraded the drum scanner to a Crosfield. Fantastic scan results... too bad it doesn't get used anymore. Digital photography turned it into an expensive boat anchor.

1993 - Added drum scanning as a service to designers, agencies, and printers. I love making color images.

1990 - Bought my first Mac IIci for over $5000. 16MHz and a 105MB HD. Wow, what a speed demon that was. Upgraded film imaging to a highly precise large format imagesetter.

1988 - Moved into an office. We're really official now.

1987 - Added the ability to image circuit board films with an LED flatbed imagesetter. Put in a film processor and my bathroom doesn't smell like fixer anymore.

1986 - Committed my whole savings to start a business using a custom designed step and repeat machine and a large process camera squeezed into my garage. Film gets developed after dark in the bathtub because of the skylight. What have I just done?
